THREE (EFFICIENCY-BOOSTING) HAIKUS

Okay, I cheated, I only kept the number of syllables and nothing else, but they are still pretty together.:)

HAVE YOUR OWN SYSTEM INSTEAD OF MOTIVATION OR SELF-DISCIPLINE.

On a cranky Monday morning/Thursday afternoon full of unloved tasks it’s very hard to get yourself up to the level where you can actually get on with what’s slowly burning your fingernails. But if you have a rhythm that has become a habit in your life, you’ll find that you have a lot of extra energy left over for your creative processes, because your system keeps you going when forcing yourself doesn’t work. If you’re not already on track, start today! The internet is full of articles and videos on this topic, pick a voice that resonates with you and follow it.

YOU ARE NOT AS SMART AS YOU THINK YOU ARE. BE CLEAR INSTEAD OF CLEVER!

If you can’t explain the problem/solution/idea in a way that even a 5-year old can understand, then either you don’t understand the point of what you are saying well enough yourself, or you won’t be able to help the receiver in what they need your help. It is not complexity that makes you useful, it is transparency. Simple is good:).

EVERYONE HAS 24 HOURS. THE KEY LIES IN WHAT YOU PUT IN IT.

A huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge commonplace, yes. Just like “a sound mind in a sound body” or “he who rises early, …” and so on and so on. But it’s still true. We shake off simple propositions by saying they are clichés, and in 10 years we will be in the same place mentally, lifestyle-wise, spiritually, happiness-wise as we are now. Things may be already fine now, but in 10 years it can be polished even further, I am sure. If you don’t plan your day, someone else will plan it for you, and you may not get what you like. Shape your 24 hours so that is suits your best self!
